Glass Fusing - How it Works

WHAT IS GLASS FUSING?

As many people haven't had the opportunity to experience working with glass, many people don't understand exactly what Glass Fusing is! Basically speaking, it is the art of layering glass to create a solid designed piece. You choose a base; choose your toppings and design! Once designed and attached, we kiln fire your design turning it into a solid piece.  The piece can then be shaped into a bowl, plate, platter, candleholder, vase etc.…Glass Pendants are very popular was well as night-lights and sun catchers.

CREATE MEMORIES IN 5 EASY STEPS!

1. 1. Choose your base.  We have a wide selection of sizes to select from.  Square, Rectangle and Circle
2. 2. Design your glass creation using our pre-cut glass pieces, or shape some of your own (limited to age 12+)
3. 3. Once you have created your design, you will glue your glass onto your base using a toothpick
4. 4. Leave your creation with us to fuse into one solid piece in the kiln
5. 5. Should you want your creation shaped into a bowl, vase or a serving dish etc. It will need to go through another kiln firing into a mold

WE PROVIDE ALL THE TOOLS

Creative Café provides all of the tools needed to complete your project. Most people when creating a glass project find no need to cut. For younger creators we provide safety glass, glass that has already been kiln fired so it has zero sharp edges. We have lots of glass to choose from in different shapes and sizes and colours.
